Millet Flatbread:
Eating millet bread/ Bajra roti is extremely beneficial. It is said that bajra is packed with a lot of nutrients and has tons of health benefits. Eating bajra in winter helps you keep your body warm.
Camphor:
You can protect yourself from falling sick by using Camphor/Kapoor in cold weather. For this, you need to take a piece of camphor, wrap it in a cotton cloth, and keep smelling it for some time. This will not only get you to ease in cough but also keep you flu-free.
Note: camphor is not something that you can take every day; make sure to use it only once a month.
Basil:
Have fresh leaves of Basil/Tulsi every day when you wake up. It has many properties which can protect you from several diseases. In winter, eating basil keeps your lungs and throat clean and fight infections. Aside from this, it is very beneficial for improving your immunity.

Gargling:
A very old and effective remedy for seasonal cough, salt, and water gargling. This remedy is straightforward and helps soothe the throat that causes you a constant cough. Tae one glass of lukewarm water, add half or one teaspoon of salt in it and do the gargling 7-8 times. This will help in relieving throat pain.Â
Note: Do not try this remedy for a child under 6 as they aren’t good at gargling.Â
Precautions To Take While You Are Coughing:
- While coughing or sneezing cover your mouth
- Stay hydrated
- Wash your hands immediately after eating, coughing
- Avoid interactions with people who are sick.
Ginger:
Ginger consists of both anti-inflammatory and antibacterial properties. It has been proven to boost our immune system and ease pain and any discomfort.
You can take ginger in teas. It is also available in capsule form or simply chew the ginger root to treat dry cough.
